Future of Farming Forum 13 June 2025

We are very pleased to invite you to our next Future of Farming forum to be held Friday June 13th from 5pm to 7pm at the James Theatre, Brown St Dungog. This event will kick start the inaugural Thrive, Field and Flavour Festival 13 14 15 June 25.

Theme for this forum will centre around Agri Tourism. Is this something you were thinking about bringing into your own farm operations? This is an opportunity to hear from our speakers who have already added farm experiences, and Michael Foster who will guide you through the Destination NSW program for this expanding industry.

Meet:

Carly and Jesse from Pheonix Farm who grow vegetables on their property . In addition they run educational and interactive visits to their farm. GROWING FUTURE FARMERS -Are you looking for a unique educational experience for kids? This fun hands-on learning program is designed to connect kids to nutrition, science and sustainability. Available to schools and families. This program helps to improve kids wellbeing, resilience, knowledge, and skills.

Jacqui Purcell, Chief Hand, In our Hands Family Farm, who runs her own farmgate near Seaham and is also looking to establish a farmgate tour around the Hunter.

Tess King, Tocal Homestead , who will profile what is happening at the college in this agri tourism space, including the high school interactive visits to Tocal’s Dairy and associated activities.

We may also have some of the special guest presenters involved in the Saturday program of Thrive make appearance on the night.
