A subject which has been mentioned on many occasions but continues to be a cause of frustration for business owners, residents and visitors is the lack of parking in Dowling Street during busy times. The inability to park close by does affect the patronage of local shops and businesses. Customers are the key to business success, so it’s an advantage to be able to offer convenient parking.
Whilst most business owners are aware, employees may not be and could be reminded to use the ample side street parking. By freeing up the car spaces there is an increased chance that potential business opportunities will arise. Convenient parking in close proximity to our businesses also encourages our residents to continue to shop locally with easy access.
National Science week 2018 (11-19 August) will present a number of events presented by Paterson Allyn Williams Science Hub. Other events include Scinema also on 11 August and on Sunday 12 August, Blue the Film and a Q & A will screen at the James Theatre with a chance to meet conservationists and celebrate Boomerang Bag’s second birthday. For more info head to https://pawsciencehub.com/
Following receipt by the Chamber of a grant from the Department of the Premier and Cabinet for signage in May 2018 preliminary design work has now commenced for a Tourism and directory sign which will be placed in Lioness Park at the entrance to Dungog. The Chamber will work closely with DSC and are excited to get the project underway.
