President’s Column

President’s Column

Welcome to 2018 and on behalf of the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce committee I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during the past year and we look forward to a successful and prosperous 2018 for the Dungog Shire Business Community. We have lots on the agenda for the coming year and plans are already underway for our annual business awards which will take place in May.

It was great to finish the year on a high note with over 40 businesses participating in our Christmas Decoration Competition and over 1000 votes received.  Congratulations and thank you to all businesses which took the time and put in the effort to create some wonderful Christmas Displays. Everyone should be very proud of their efforts which not only captured the imagination of locals but many visitors to the Shire. Our winners were Chic Clothing Co who won the Judges vote, Coffee Bean Café who won the people’s vote and Hanna Hopson who won the voters draw.

All of the winners received Dungog Dollars which means their winnings had to be spent in participating businesses, recirculating the money and supporting our local economy. Our winners chose to spend their Dungog Dollars in Lovey’s Grocers, Dungog Pizza and Chic Clothing Co.

To continue our work in 2018, which includes presenting our events such as the Dowling Street Christmas Party, the Christmas Decoration Competition and many other initiatives we would ask businesses to consider becoming a member of the Dungog District Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is a non for profit organisation driven by a committee of Volunteers and comprised of local businesses, professional and community-minded people.

Our local events and initiatives are often funded solely by the Chamber and offer participation for both members and non- members. Our annual membership fee is $100.00 and to find out more about the benefits of members head to www.ddcc.org.au or contact me on 4992 1441.

Kind Regards,

Jennifer Lewis
