Meet the Candidates Dungog Shire Council Election

Meet the Candidates Dungog Shire Council Election

The Chamber’s “Meet the Candidates” event held last Wednesday allowed local voters the opportunity to meet candidates who have enrolled to be elected as Councillors for Dungog Shire Council at the upcoming election on Saturday 9 September. There are three wards currently in Dungog Shire. Ward A, B and Ward C. Each ward will elect three councillors.

The forum allowed each candidate to present their platform and vision for the future for five minutes.  We felt this format would facilitate the opportunity for each candidate to explain their platform and policy and facilitate the smooth running of the evening.

We received very positive comments about the event from both candidates and attendees and this is typical of the feedback:

“Thank you for organising last night’s ‘Meet the Candidates’ and a huge congratulations for the way you controlled the evening.  We found the evening most enlightening and thank and congratulate you and your confreres on a special night as we, as a Shire, go forward.”

There are many different opinions as to the future directions for Dungog Shire. Nevertheless, each candidate who has nominated has shown the fortitude and belief that they wish to represent their Ward as a Councillor on Dungog Shire Council.  Our many thanks to all who participated in the evening.
