Certainly a weekend to remember with plenty of locals and visitors out and about throughout the Dungog Shire. Great to see many businesses who appreciate the importance and potential of the visitor market extending their hours to capitalise on the opportunity and offer visitors and locals an experience to be remembered.
Congratulations to the organisers of The Planet Dungog Music Festival. Under somewhat difficult circumstances earlier on you did a wonderful job and our local businesses benefited through increased accommodation stays, visits to cafes and shops.
With the extra exposure provided by ABC 1233 Newcastle’s Paul Bevan with a live broadcast from Chillbillies on Friday afternoon and ABC’s Australia All Over broadcast live on Sunday morning which was also simulcast on our very own Radio Dungog FM 107.9 we sent out a message that we are a proud and resilient community and very much open for business.
Also a big congratulations to everyone involved in 100 year celebrations for the Clarence Town School of Arts. From a very successful dinner on Friday night, street parade, markets, movies and music you all did a fabulous job and we are looking forward to joining in with your celebrations on 27th June at our DDCC Business awards dinner.
Congratulations to everyone involved in pulling the community together, not only over the weekend but over the last 6 weeks. Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is a success.
